The Los Pozos Iron Ore Mine is located in the southeast part of the state of Michoacán, and is about 40 km on a straight line from the Pacific Ocean Port of Lazaro Cardenas, and by road it is 22 km along the Pacific Coast Highway 200 and 61 km of secondary road to be built for a total of 83 km of heavy haul distance for the final product transportation to the Lazaro Lay-down Yard; where 70,000 metric ton vessels will be loaded during the first year of operations and 150,000 metric ton vessels beginning upon completion of the port dredging.

The Los Pozos Iron Ore deposit is a tab structure and is 1,200 meters long and 60 meters in width with a strike of 75° NW, and is 200 meters deep.
The Los Pozos Mine is located at;
18° 17’ 00’’ and 18° 20’ 00’’ North Latitude
102° 78’ 00’’ and 102° 20’ 00’’ West Longitude
The deposit is 400 meters to 800 meters in elevation
The minerals found at the Los Pozos Iron Ore Mine are Magnetite, Hematite, Gold, Pyrrotite, Pyrite, Chalcopyrite, and the gangue minerals are Calcite, Quartzite, Actinolite, Tremolite, Limonite, Chert and Clay.
Up to date 1,441 meters of diamond bit bore holes have been drilled to confirm the Magnetometer studies developed which have defined a tab structure with some veins of waste.
These Core-drilled holes defined the following iron mineral reserves
Geological Reserves32.6 Million Metric Tons of Iron Ore
Mine-able Reserve15.8 Million Metric Tons of Grade A Iron Ore (see core analysis)
The iron ore deposit is over schist and metamorphic rocks, type dioritic and marmolized limestone, and hornfels. The mineral map below, with iron minerals in red color shows the size and the direction east to west going through the side of the Cerro Blanco Hill crossing the Toscano River and continues to the Organal Hill west of the river.

With the volume of iron minerals at Los Pozos, the estimated life of this project is four years at the rate of 4.8 million metric tons a year of Iron Ore Fines, above 65% total Fe.
The final mining design to extract the material is shown on the 3-D layout map below.
